Georg Jensen was born in 1866. After training as a sculptor goldsmith, he opened his first workshop in Copenhagen in 1904.
When he died in 1935, he was recognized as one of the finest goldsmiths of his time.
After the war, Georg Jensen's studio developed a genuine creative policy with well-known architects and sculptors.
From 1945 onwards, the Jensen company enlisted the collaboration of Danish designer Henning Köppel, who created first first jewelry, then goldsmiths' and silversmiths' designs.
