Antique 18kt yellow gold band ring (hallmark: owl), featuring an antique cushion-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.15 carats set in the center of the band (estimated color: I, estimated clarity: SI).
A Victorian work from the late 19th century, circa 1880.

State : very little scratches on the gold parts, visible on the pictures.
The antique cut is one of the oldest faceted diamond cuts.
This is the predecessor of the brilliant cut. Also known as the Peruzzi cut, it was developed in 1700. Its main characteristics are a relatively small table, a high crown, and a deep culet.
In addition, the stone has an open culet. When you look at the diamond from above, you can see this culet inside, in the center. This is the feature that allows you to recognize an antique-cut gemstone without a doubt!
